Shawn Morelli partners with Verve Cycling

Verve Cycling has announced a two-year partnership with world-renowned double Gold medallist Paralympian and World Champion cyclist, Shawn Morelli.

For the past six years, Shawn has been dominant in endurance events both in the velodrome and on the road, breaking cycling world records and racking up an impressive 16 elite medals including world championship titles and two gold medals at the 2016 Paralympic Games.

The InfoCrank will enable Shawn to monitor and record power measurements in real time providing immediate feedback to help ensure she is at exactly the right intensity across all her efforts.

A retired U.S. Army Major, Shawn took up cycling after an explosion during her service in Afghanistan caused brain trauma, blindness in her left eye and severe damage to her spine and neck.

Shawn now experiences nerve damage that causes the right side of her body to fire very differently from the left. The InfoCrank power meter measures each leg independently to help Shawn and her coach gain an accurate understanding of her power output and train more effectively.

Bryan Taylor, Verve Cycling CEO, said:

“We have worked with Shawn for some years now and Shawn has always been one of our most valued riders. Shawn is an inspirational figure who embodies a real passion and drive toward her goals, and her achievements both in the velodrome and out on the road are hard to parallel. Having the opportunity to help Shawn on her road toward the Tokyo Paralympics is largely why we do what we do at Verve Cycling and we’re excited to see how we can support her progress.”

Shawn Morelli, multiple Paralympic and World Championship Medallist, said:

“I’m very excited to become a part of the team at Verve Cycling. I’ve been working with Verve for a couple of years for my power needs and they’ve definitely not disappointed. By making the partnership official, it will continue to improve our data collection and preparation leading into the Tokyo Games. I want to extend thanks to Verve for the opportunity to represent them and their awesome product.”
